The Scentsy Lord of the Rings Collection

Posted on September 30, 2026 by Jo Andreacchio

The Rivendell warmer and Rivers of Rivendell wax arrived in 2026, joining the Bag End warmer and Shire Sunrise wax from the first Lord of the Rings release in 2024 to make a proper little collection. Here's everything in it, what each piece is like in real life, and which one I'd pick for which kind of fan.

Rivendell: the warmer

White ceramic lantern warmer with arched elven columns and an iridescent inner panel showing the Fellowship in silhouette, The Lord Of The Rings: Rivendell Scentsy Warmer

The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell Scentsy Warmer ($186) is the Last Homely House in ceramic. Slender elven columns and pointed arches rise to an openwork cupola in a soft ivory glaze, and inside sits a frosted, iridescent panel that shows all nine members of the Fellowship in silhouette. When it's switched on, that panel glows in lilac, violet and pearl.

It stands about 26 cm tall, so it's a display piece more than a tuck-it-in-a-corner warmer: a hall table, mantel or bookshelf next to the books is where it belongs. The wax dish carries Elvish script and the leaf of Lórien, and the warmer uses a 20W bulb.

Rivers of Rivendell: the fragrance

Periwinkle wax bar with gold lettering and the One Ring, The Lord of the Rings: Rivers of Rivendell Scentsy Bar

Rivers of Rivendell ($13) is cool and clear rather than sweet. Bergamot comes first, bright like snowmelt, then forest vetiver and mountain pine settle in underneath, with evergreen resin and that rain-on-stone smell at the base. It's a fresh, outdoorsy fragrance, and it suits a warm Australian afternoon better than you'd expect from something named after a hidden valley.

If you like woody and green fragrances, or anything that smells like a walk after rain, this is the bar to try.

Bag End: the hobbit hole

Hobbit-hole shaped warmer with a grassy green exterior, round green door, stone archway and glowing yellow windows, The Lord of the Rings: Bag End Scentsy Warmer

The Lord of the Rings: Bag End Scentsy Warmer is the cosy one. It's a grassy mound with a round green door set into a brick archway, little round windows, flowering garden beds and a stone path, and when it's on, a warm amber glow spills out of the windows and under the door as though someone has just put the kettle on. It also uses a 20W bulb.

It's on special at the moment at $89.40 (usually $149), which makes it the easiest way into the collection.

Shire Sunrise ($13) is the fragrance made to go with it: woodland breezes, fresh citrus and forest florals, like an early morning over the hills of the Shire. It's lighter and zestier than Rivers of Rivendell, so the two make a good pair if you like to swap between them.

Lord of the Rings wax currently available: Rivers of Rivendell, Shire Sunrise.

Warming the two fragrances together

Because both bars are from the same world, they sit nicely together in the one dish. A cube of Shire Sunrise with a cube of Rivers of Rivendell gives you the citrus and florals of the first with the pine and rain of the second, which is a lovely way to use up the last cubes of each. Start with one of each, see how the room smells after half an hour, and adjust from there.

The same goes the other way: neither bar needs a Lord of the Rings warmer. They work in any Scentsy warmer you already own, so a fan with a plain white warmer on the kitchen bench can still have the fragrances.

Which one for which fan?

  • The collector, or the one who's read the books more than once: Rivendell. It's the statement piece, and the Fellowship panel is the detail they'll show everyone.
  • The one who'd happily live in the Shire: Bag End with a Shire Sunrise bar. It's homely rather than grand, and it's the better-value gift.
  • A stocking or a Secret Santa: one of the two bars at $13 each. Both work in any Scentsy warmer, so they don't need a Lord of the Rings warmer to go with them.

Bulbs, and when pieces retire

Both warmers take a 20W bulb, so a 20W three-pack covers you for either. My bulb guide explains how to check and change one.

Licensed collections like this one are only around for a limited time. When a piece retires, its page stays on the site with its photos and details, and the back-in-stock button there will let you know if Scentsy ever brings it back.

You'll find the whole range together on the Lord of the Rings collection page, and the rest of Scentsy's licensed ranges on the licensed collections page.
