When it's on, light spills out between the columns like a lamp on a cold evening. It uses a 20W bulb.

Luke's Coffee Mug: the mini warmer

The four Gilmore Girls fragrances are each named for a corner of town:

• Dragonfly Inn: crisp red apple and plum with cosy flannel and red oak. Fruity, but grounded.
• "I Smell Snow": frosted mint and vanilla blossom through soft cashmere. The fresh, cool one.
• Luke's Diner: dark roast coffee and cream. Exactly what it says.
• Stars Hollow Harvest Festival: cinnamon, brown sugar and buttery vanilla. The sweet, spiced one.

There are two ways to get them, both $48 and both with all four fragrances. Choosing a fragrance for the season

The four fragrances cover a lot of ground, so it's worth matching them to the weather. On a warm spring afternoon, "I Smell Snow" is the one to reach for: the mint keeps it light and fresh, even though the name says winter. Dragonfly Inn suits the change of season, when you want something fruity but not summery.
