Scentsy Wax Bars are a wee bit addictive. You can never have enough - well, that’s what I tell myself.
Swapping out scents, mixing fragrances together to impatience in wanting to try something new, changing our wax is part of life for all Scentsy fans.
I often hear from customers that they’re not entirely sure how to change out their old wax without making a right mess, spilling it over their warmer or without damaging their dish for a fresh change.
Having been a consultant for over 4 years, I’ve thankfully picked up some handy tips and hacks to make what could potentially be a messy job, really simple!
Try one or more of these tricks the next time you’re ready for a wax change:
* While your wax is still warm and melted, pop a couple of cotton balls into the warmer dish and let it soak up all the wax. You can then wipe the dish clean, remove and toss it in the bin. Voila!
* Turn your warmer off, grab the dish and pour the liquid wax straight into the bin (never down the sink drain!). Wipe the warmer dish clean with a paper towel and you’re ready to go. It’s important to note that we don’t recommend this method with unglazed dishes as the wax can stain the outside if there is a mishap.
* Turn off your warmer and let the wax cool and solidify a little. Next, using your fingernail, pull the wax away from the edge of the dish until you can get your finger underneath. Pull the wax out of the dish in one piece and throw it in the bin. Ta dah!
* Turn your warmer off and let the wax solidify completely. Then, using the edge of a Scentsy wax clam shell, score around the edge of the dish into the wax until you can pop the wax out in one solid piece. You know what to do – yep, bin it! Too easy.
* Place a piece of ribbon on the bottom of your warmer dish, with one of the ends hanging out one side, then whack your favourite fragrance in. When it comes time for wax changeover, let the wax cool and grab the ribbon end to leverage the wax out of the dish in one piece.
Come new catalogue time, I’m known to get antsy in wanting to try a new fragrance while my current wax still has fragrance left. Did you know that the Scentsy Wax clam shells are formulated to take a great deal of heat? So, you can pour wax right back into the clam shell without it cracking or melting. Awesome, right?
It’s important to store your wax properly to get the most out of your fragrance experience. Store your Scentsy Wax Bars in a cool, dry place, such as a cupboard or drawer. Lay them flat so the oils remain evenly distributed and to prevent your wax colour fading, keep them out of direct sunlight at all times.
Having fun with fragrance doesn’t have to be messy – follow the above tips to make it simple!
