Spring Cleaning

It's that time of the year again to start thinking about spring cleaning, which means some serious decluttering, reorganization, scrubbing and polishing.

Back in the day, people kept their houses shut tight during winter. Before central and electric heating, homes were heated with coal, oil or wood. Over the course of the colder months, these heating methods created a residue buildup of soot, oil and dust throughout the home. Spring's arrival was welcomed as an opportunity to freshen up the home in preparation for the warmer season. All surfaces would be swept, scrubbed, dusted and washed.

These days, we probably don't need to go to such lengths, however the spring cleaning tradition continues. Whether you love it or hate it, there's no denying that a good spring clean is a worthwhile exercise. But did you know that it can also benefit your health and wellbeing?

1. Let's Get Productive
Many studies show that reducing clutter and mess can make us more productive and reduce negative stress. Making the effort to declutter and organise your home allows you to better focus on the tasks at hand, focus on the tasks at hand and be more organised in your day-to-to-day activities.
